About

The Foundation’s mission is to improve peoples’ lives through access to sport and exercise. The issues in Doncaster we want to tackle include childhood obesity, long term health conditions, poor mental health, isolation and lack of opportunities due to poverty to name a few.

We currently work in 3 key areas and funds can benefit any of the following programmes:

COMMUNITY
Our Health & Wellbeing team delivers fun and engaging sessions to all free of charge:
- Fit Rovers: Courses open to anyone over 30 wanting to change their lifestyle through exercise and nutrition
- Retro Rovers: Our walking football group for older and less active participants
- Football Welcomes: A joint project with Amnesty International to welcome refugees in Doncaster
- Bike Library: We have a library based at the stadium with a large selection of bikes available to ‘hire’ all year round

EDUCATION
Our Schools and Participation team deliver a range of activities to children so they can become the best versions of themselves:
- We work with 58 schools and over 5000 children per week providing breakfast clubs, elite PE sessions and after school clubs
- Club Doncaster Sports College provides specialist courses for post-16 learners who want to pursue a career in sport

INCLUSION
Our National Citizen Service or NCS is specifically designed for 16-17 year olds to meet new friends, take on new and exciting challenges and pick up useful skills for the future.
